Debbie The Great

Jimmy and I have this special relationship with a group of amazing people.  Debbie is one of them, and she is most definitely the cat's meow.  We have moments when we don't talk for awhile, and then when we touch base again it's like we were just talking yesterday.  She is amazing.

So, yesterday we received a call from the Almighty Debbie.  Jimmy talked to her for like an hour and then I called her back and we talked for another hour.  It's like we are family!

Debbie has the greatest sense of humor, and I give her credit for honing my own wit!  Anyway, we covered a lot of topics.  Here are just a couple....

Debbie wants to create the worlds greatest roadside attraction.  Her and I have seen the largest fry pan, the giant ball of yarn, three different Paul Bunyan and Babe The Blue Ox's as well as a few other interesting tid bits.  Her dream is far more in depth, and much more interesting.  She wants to build a Jack-a-lope farm, complete with race track, petting zoo and restaurant.  (there are a few items that still need to be ironed out, like how we get the horns to stick to the bunnies.......), but the dream seems valid.  So, if there are any investors out there just let me know.  Debbie would love to speak to you.....

We covered how sucky getting old is, and how you know your getting old!  How do you know you are getting old?  When your pubic hairs turn gray, dah!  So Debbie says she is holding up well and can't wait to do that centerfold shot for playboy.  (I think the contract is in the mail.......)

She wants to invite us out to stay a couple of days, but her husband has a transmission on the guest bed but no car to put it in.  Might be awhile, but Naomi might be coming out soon and we can figure out a meeting place then.....

Who are these people?

Yesterday I posted some pictures, and here is the story for starters.

I met Jimmy, who introduced me to his friend Tim, who introduced me to his friend Debbie who introduced me to Tim's sister Naomi, who introduced me to the theory (fact) that combined the four of us make up the biggest "Smart Ass" on the planet.  We are literally the most ridiculous, obnoxious and hilarious bunch on the face of the planet.  Now mix that with booze, and we are a complete party!  Some of the most wonderful times of my life have occured because of these people........I love them all.....

Dear Debbie.  I checked, and "No" you can not have my Grandma's Dildo.  Having said that, I did find this roadside attraction!!!!!

My humor is lost in certain crowds...

My humor is lost with some people, for example:

Predo "If you take figure A, times 2080 and divide by 12 you have your answer."
Person "Wow, that is amazing?"
Predo "Much easier, right?"
Person "Yeah, how did you know that?"
Predo "I don't know, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn express last night?"
Person "Why?"

Predo "Would you like some carrots or radishes?"
Person 2 "No, root vegetables give me gas!"
Predo "Be careful, the government is contemplating a tax on methane production on a per person basis!"
Person 2 "What's methane and why would they tax for it?"

Person 3 "Crap, I spilled coffee all over the desk!"
Predo "Quick, who has a Sham-Wow?"
Person 3 "What?"

Person 4 "Want a candy?"
Predo "Thank you.  Candy brings out my sensitive side, so I try not to eat more then a pound a day"
Person 4 "I bet your Wife really likes that!"
Predo "Yeah, when I let her out of the closet."

Needless to say, something is going right.  Last night I interviewed for a Supervisor position (still temp though) and will find out how that goes soon.

Thanks everyone, Have a fabulous day and watch the methane production!

A study in relationships

This is a video of a homeless man in Santa Barbara and his pets. They work State Street every week for donations. The animals are pretty well fed and are mellow. They are a family. The man who owns them rigged up a harness for his cat so she wouldn't have to walk so much (like the dog and himself). At some juncture the rat came along, and as no one wanted to eat anyone else, the rat started riding with the cat and, often, on the cat!
The dog, will stand all day and let you talk to him and admire him for a few chin scratches. The Mayor of Santa Barbara filmed this clip and sent it out as a holiday card.

A great video.....a MUST watch! Click on the link below

Don't get me wrong, I do love him....

I am a strong person.  I know this.  I do however have two flaws.  I am immune to Kryptonite, however, there are ways to wound me.

1)  Chewing Ice Cubes!  This act causes me physical pain.  I do not know why.  I simply link it to the issue some people have with finger nails on a chalk board.  I rarely run into this problem outside in the world, but I am forced to suffer its affects daily.  Jimmy and I have been together working on our 18th year and he MOST DEFINITELY IS QUITE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, yet he chooses to torture me for no apparent reason.  In fact, he has a magical glass that provides an endless supply of ice cube to masticate!  He then awaits my irritable exit from the room.  Shortly after that, he follows me around the house, gnashing each ice cube a sum total of four hundred seventy two thousand, nine hundred sixty two times!  "What (crunch, crunch) is (crunch) the (crunch, crunch, crunch) problem?"  Why (crunch) are (crunch, crunch) you leaving?"  Argggggghhhh!!!  Don't get me wrong, I do love him, but there are times I wish he had no teeth!

2)  Silverware screeching across plates or teeth!  Why, oh why on Mother Natures Green Earth do people feel the need to bite down wholeheartedly upon the silverware and then pull it through their locked in teeth!  FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, DO NOT EAT YOUR SILVERWARE!  Also, these same caring and thoughtful individuals feel the need to use a knife to cut pudding.  They stab savagely with a fork and then drag a knife the equivalent of six miles across their plate.  WHY?  TELL ME WHY?????  Why on earth does it take more pounds per square inch to cut mashed potatoes then your car tires need?  Ack, and yes, Jimmy loves to torment me with this one as well.

So, what brought on this post?  For the last hour, either a knife has been schreeeeeeking across a plate or a thousand ice cubes have gone to their death.  He must want me dead.

Question to self....."Obsess much Predo?"

Breathe deep.

Okay, assignment from BHE!

BHE has given an assignment.  She requires that I type my name, and "needs" then list the top ten items.  So, here goes.

Wade Needs:

1) To resign
(Resign to be fabulous!)

2) Our help
(In making sure he becomes fabulous!)

3) To be overturned
(I hope this is in a good way!  No, seriously!)

4) To get Heat
(Now you know, I have always been HOT, so I have absolutely no clue as to why this would come up.  It must have been an error when posted)

5) To be more aggressive
(Is this an opportunity to use the word "Fierce"?)

6) Constant Defense
(Well of course!  The Predo can not be seen in public without his armed guards!  Scuse me, please hand me that wrap.....)

7) A wheelchair for his shoulder
(I simply do not have any idea here.....Anyone have any clue?)

8) To let go
(uhm, of what and whom is it attached too?)

9) Some time to improve
(Well, don't we all?)

10) Some new underwear
(Okay, who has been looking in my drawers, at my drawers???)

As a "need some new underwear" follow up........

I always wanted to be a writer.

I always dreamed of being a writer.  Not the typical writer, but one kind of different.

I never wanted to be a novelist, or a series writer.  I wanted to write my own story, a little different.  I wanted to write emotion.  Not about emotion, but actual emotion.

Music is an outlet that hits me right in the hot spot as far as emotion goes, so lyric was always my forte' with regard to writing.  Songs, poems, short stories; these are the canvas on which I paint.  Blogging is nice, because it affords me the ability to turn point blank and change perspective, but it is still not my dream.

What is my dream?  Don't laugh!  My dream has been the same since my youth.  I want to write a Rock Opera.  I have always seen it.  Well, not actually performed on stage, but SSG would certainly play a leading role there!!!  My Rock Opera always appears in my head as a double album.  No CD's, no 8 track, and no cassette, just a double LP.  Four glorious sides of my work.

The two albums will hold a total of 4 acts, each side of an LP is one act.  There will be no break in the individual act, the music and lyric will roll on for the entire side.  It is hard to explain, but I liken it to musicians like The Who, The Beatles, Elton John, The Moody Blues and even The Rolling Stones.  I want what I write to appear as vision, but better then the likes of "Tommy" and his little pinball machine.  I want my work to be felt rather then understood.  I want my work to be born with it's own voice.  Now if only I could sing!!

Crazy?  Yeah, I know it is.  I mean, who buys LP's anymore?  What ever the case, one day, I will write a Rock Opera, and wether good or bad, it will be heard.  Then all six of the people who hear it will be impressed!  Ha!  This sounds so gigantically funny when put down in words for others to read, but isn't that the point?  Isn't that why we are here?  I think so, and I am grateful.  So, no matter how odd or unique, what is your dream?

Family ties...

Since going back to Wisconsin twice in the last six months, I have been reconnecting with my family.  It is a little odd for me, not just because of the 20 year time gap, but because I have changed so much in some aspects and very little in others.

The biggest change in me is that I don't feel the urge to hide who I am, or modify myself anymore.  When I was young, I was in the closet about my sexuality, which pretty much kept me very withdrawn and quiet.  My family never really got to know the real me.  Over the last 20 years I have turned full circle.  Now, I am myself all of the time, in big bold technicolor!  I like the person I am and am proud of what I have accomplished.  I think that pride and self esteem has been reflected in my new found relationship with my family.  They can see that I am quite happy, and have developed a strong sense of self worth since we were last together.  They appear to be comfortable with that, and that is good.

On that note, I still have the child like adoration and respect for certain members of my family.  Life in farming is not easy, and these people live with the same dedication and ethics they always had.  I found myself feeling like I did when I was 10 years old in my Grandfathers house.  Those feelings have not changed and probably never will.

My family has changed as well.  I don't know what the cause just yet, but it appears that they have broadened their horizons so to speak.  They have grown in the world of acceptance for some reason, and that is also a good thing.  I still feel a level of the uncomfortable factor at times, but that is to be expected with this type of distance that was created.  My Grandfather has apologized repeatedly to me face to face, but he is not to blame.  In fact, that is another change.

I think that as I have grown older, and fought for the things that I have obtained in life and love, I have become more understanding.  20 years ago, I was filled with anger at the way people thought, or what they expected, but now I understand more about it before making an opinion.  My Grandfather for example, had a different life to lead then I do.  He had is own struggles, which I could not truly comprehend, just as he could not possibly understand mine.  Now, he feels to blame for the passing of time and the pain I went through, but he is not.  My Grandparents and their children (aside from my father) sacrificed a great deal to give me the tools to survive, and they did a wonderful job.  I think the blame lies with my parents, and now, blame has become irrelevant.  I have given 20 years up for my parents to remain in the family, and they have given this gift no respect.  Now, the time is in my hands, and I am going to make up for it.

I have spoken to my Grandfather, and he understands that I am very happy with my life.  He knows I would not change a thing.  He also knows that the love he felt with Grandma is no different then the love I feel for Jimmy.  He may not understand the physical attraction, but he certainly accepts that Jimmy is the center of my entire universe.  How could I ask for more?

I don't know what is in store for the future, but I am slowly regaining a relationship with my family.  This is step one, and it is far more then I ever expected to go!

I now pronounce you.....

So, as is always the case with me, random tales are taking us into a unique topic today.  First let me say, this topic had me a little disturbed.

On BBC last night, they covered a story where a farmer "surprised" a man with one of the farmers goats.  Now, I know what you are thinking.  Premarital sex is quite disturbing!  So, in an effort to save his goats good name, the farmer is demanding a dowry of 35 pounds and that the man marry the goat!  The man should have thought this through!  I mean, what about the kids?

So, since I have a special flare for decor, I have been wondering about the wedding design.  Well of course, the goat can not eat her bouquet, that would be disastrous.  And then what about the gown?  And how disturbing, that I can go to the internet and find photo's of goats in veils?  We are a grand country, are we not?

So, with Man and Goat to be wed, how will she know he will not cheat on her?  Where will they go on dates.  Seriously, fast food is out, burgers would definitely give her gas, and that is just a romance spoiler right there.  Plus, most restaurants would want to "serve her" and not actually serve for her.  Poor thing.

So, happy Friday ladies, and remember, there is always someone who has it worse!  And just for the record, I can think of a way to teach this pervert a lesson.  I think they should let a horse return the favor!  I bet he wouldn't want to marry the horse when he was through!!!!

Not home alone....

Super hot Krissa over at Halfasstic posted a little ditty about her man coming home warn our and tired.  Check it out!  The reason I bring it up, is because on Sunday, I was just like him.  I have been working 12 days, from 11:00 to 11:30 at night, but Sundays shift was 7:00 to 4:30.  I was exhausted, came home and crawled on top of the bed.  I laid there listening to Jimmy making dinner, and talking to Oscar, and Vera making her voice heard as well.  Although I was very tired, it filled my heart to listen to my family going through the routines.  I miss them on this shift, but it is for the best right now.

So, Dear Krissa, when you are taunting your man like that, he probably knows it!  Remember that, one day he might return the favor!!!!!

Can you feel it?

Can you feel it?  Spring is coming!  Spring is coming!

This morning, I awoke and stepped outside to enjoy a moment of sun before getting ready for work.  There are little bitty buds popping up all over the yard!  The Lilac trees especially are starting to push out the beginnings of what will lead to succulent smelling blooms!  I am so excited this morning!  It's coming, finally!

It feels like this has been the longest, and coldest winter in Portland that I have ever seen, and this little visual has given me hope of the rebirth of spring!  Yippie!!!!!!

What is going on in your yard?

What's in your lunch box?

So, a few days down and I am feeling a little more comfortable at my new job.  Last night at work I noticed the food brought in!

The lunch room has candy and soda machines.  Sugar and salt are the staple!  My co-workers bring lunch boxes as well, so I took a moment to sneak a peak at what they were eating.  Most carried their leftovers from the night before along with snickers and kit-kats and soda and donuts and jerky and so on............The Lady sitting beside me had a Slim-fast drink, followed by a Butterfinger, a diet soda and then a package of Oreo cookies.

I amount of exercise is limited to the occasional walk to the rest-room.  Well, lets see, high intake of junk and low output of movement.  What do we think is happening here?

In my three days, I have scoped out my plan.  I park about a mile from work in the "over-fill" lot and walk to work.  I also take my lunch with me.  What is in my lunch box?

Two "True Green" veggie bars, three Morning Star farms vegetarian sausage patties, 1 large metal water bottle, Tofurky Jurkey, carrots, vitamins and a pack of gum.

At break time I walk around the building twice.  At lunch, I eat and climb the stairs a couple of times.

What is my point?  It is astounding the amount of pills and potions designed for weight loss that sit at almost every desk.  Is this the trick to weight-loss?  No!  They take the pills for energy.  They pop a pill to stay awake, and back it with sugar and salt chasers!  With this new found knowledge within me, I awake this morning and turn on the television.  Show after show of how to eat, how to exercise, how to loose weight and what to wear to cover the fat!

Now, I am not passing judgement at all, but do you see a trend here?  What have we become as a society?   Work, work, work is the order for survival, and no one is able to live, live, live.  We need to take a moment to be selfish.  We need to actually feed ourselves and not just fuel up to keep working.  We need time to play, move, dance and enjoy our bodies!  I don't think people are actually sitting around to find ways to get to that heart attack faster, I think they are just locked in a mindset and a pattern of habit.

I am glad that I have my friends that blog.  They give me the perception that there are people out there working to change this path for themselves.  To you, I am proud.  For you I am happy.  Because of you, I know it can be done!

Business Casual

Don't get me wrong, I like the new job, but I have to get used to a few things......

The dress code is "business casual", with the rule "if you look in the mirror and question whether or not to wear that outfit, then you probably should not".  So, what does that mean?  Well, I reflect on this rule as wearing nice slacks with a dress shirt but no tie.  A pair of comfortable shoes, like oxfords for example would be acceptable with a matching belt.

From what I see at my new job, I am way off base.  The outfit dejour appears to be old jeans, a t-shirt from a favored rap star and flip-flops.  Oh, and it appears that at least three facial piercings are required at all times.  A large percentage of the population there has pink, blue, or maroon hair with a "never" washed look as well.  The most unusual appearance, is the need for most of the ladies to have a skin tight shirt with cleavage down to their knees.  Very odd indeed!

I am not sure when I got this old, but obviously I missed a memo somewhere?  So, tell me, what is the dress code at your work?

Day two at work

It is a sea of cubicles, 2000 in all, filled with people.  Today I work 10 am to 8 pm, and tomorrow from 11 am to 11 pm.  Twelves all around!  I guess this is one of those times that people reflect on the old adage of feast or famine!

To top it off, it is snowing again.  I have to leave early to make sure I get there on time.  Talk to you all later!!!

Random thoughts....

Today is a collection of random thoughts.  No true running tale at all.

1)  For days I have been craving "Pot Pies" for dinner.  It truly has been years since I even had one, so what is the deal?  I think it is because I have two very close friends that are pregnant.  That must be it.

2)  I posted about New Orleans the other day, and today got an email about introducing myself to "wax or a razor".  Sorry, I am really quite hairy, and waxing would cost a fortune!  Besides, I have been growing this hair for years, and SSG just loves to come over and corn-row it for me.  It's kind of like Bo Derek in the movie "10" but full body.  So, dear "anonymous", my chest hair isn't leaving, get over it.  Maybe you should think about the ideals that your kind of thinking spreads through out the world.  Look for example at the relationship between young girls and the super model industry.  Look at the eating disorders that little "opinion" has caused.  Now I will jump off my soapbox, but please, leave my fur alone!  I grew it and can do with it what I please!  Don't look if you don't like it.

3)  SSG left me for a whole week.  Sadness.

4)  SSG is with her family for a whole week.  Happiness!

5)  I start my new job tomorrow.  I have to remember to wear clean underwear and pick out an outfit.  Actually, I have been running through the outfit process for two days!  My closet has just now been put back to some semblance of order.  Oh, and I am going with the very first choice I made before diving into an outfit nightmare.  Pant, meet shirt, shirt meet jacket, jacket why do you make me look fat!!!!  Arrrrgh!  At least my butt looks good!

6)  I miss The Golden Girls and Matt Houston.

7)  I want another tattoo.  I shouldn't, I know, save the money.  But (because there is always a but....) I want it!

8)  Bunny called me and is going to Amsterdam.  She is not taking me.  I hope her vagina gets itchy on the plane for a little while and then stops.  (That is about as mean as I can get to her.  No offense dear readers, but she is like SSG and they are the sisters I never had, and we are closer then any family I have ever known.  Still, I want her to be uncomfortable for at least 10 minutes on that flight).

9)  Bunny is going to Amsterdam with her boyfriend.  They have been "dating" for some time.  I wonder if he is going to "pop" the question in Amsterdam?  (tear)  I take back the itchy thing.  Sorry.  How totally, sickeningly, completely Predo like would that kind of romantic engagement be?  OMG, I have to run out and find a card, just in case.  Wait, flowers....wait, what?  What am I supposed to do?  I am gonna run out and buy a bunch of valentines candy, then either way, she loves me!!!!!!

10)  I woke up this morning very early.  I sat there watching Jimmy, Vera and Oscar all sleeping together.  If you have not had the chance to watch your loved ones sleep, do it!  It is so wonderful!  I had a great day!

Love you all, sorry about the rambling!

Thanks to my Brother!

I received this email from my Aunt.

"You are on the bus when you suddenly realize ... you need to fart.
The music is really loud, so you time your farts with the beat.
After a couple of songs, you start to feel better as you approach
your stop. As you are leaving the bus, people are really staring you down, and
that's when you remember: you've been listening to your ipod"

I know. Odd email.  However, after laughing, it reminded me of something my Brother taught me when we were young.  It came in very handy once on a bus from Seattle to Portland in 1990.

It was on a Friday, and I was going to take the bus from Seattle to Portland to see Jimmy.  My friend and I went to lunch at taco bell, and he had brought his own hot sauce.  It was something that a co-worker of his had made at home.  We had bean burritos with loads of this very spicy sauce poured in them.  It was very good.  After lunch, we went back to our perspective jobs and diligently returned to working.

At about 3 in the afternoon, my friend called me.  I answered the phone in my normal professional manner and then he said "Do you have horrible gas?".  I laughed at him and responded that of course I did not.  He then broke into a fit of laughter and said "Oh, you will!  Believe me!  All the guys in my shop are about to throw up!  This is awesome!"  I smirked and let him get back to torturing his co-workers.  As I was reviewing some numbers at my desk, my stomach started to rumble.  I was not in pain, but it was obvious that something very wicked was quickly conjuring within me.  I dismissed the issue as I got off work at 4:00 and needed to get a few things done before heading to the bus.  The rumbles turned to a churning choir of bizarre sounds in my abdomen which actually started to worry me, but again I was in a hurry to meet the train on time.

The same friend picked me up to give me a ride to the bus station, and the entire way the windows were down in his car.  Never mind that it was December and quite cold, but the stench from him was worse to bare then the weather.  It was then that I realized I myself was about to become an instrument of expulsion with regard to putrescent gases.  I could feel the bomb building within me.  A bomb that would emerge in the form of a fart so horrible, so obnoxious, so terroristic that "L" would be unable survive.

Just when I thought I could hold it no more, I told "L" that it was far to cold to keep the window down.  "Fart if you must "L", but I am freezing!  Roll up your window".  Just as the last window was closed, I released longest, most silent flatulence of my life.  With in seconds, all the widows were again down and my friend was driving with his head outside the window!  I had entered the battle, and in one fell swoop, destroyed my competition!

Now this was all fine and dandy.  You know "It's all Fair Play" when it comes to friends, but when I stepped on board that bus, fear caught me right by the scruff of the neck!  Here I was, a walking methane canister, in a controlled and unescapable environment.  This would be dangerous!  Then I remembered my Brother and his words of wisdom.  He had told me many years ago, that if I had gas on the bus, sit behind the seat with the vents under it!  And so I did.

The seat in from of me had a ventilation box under it.  The heat was on which would blow air to the front of the bus.  There are vents on the back of the heater that draw air in from the backside (the side facing me!).  This creates a circulation effect in order to heat the bus.

Needless to say, I was not sure of how this would inevitably work, so I chose to test the theory.  Just out of the bus station, with great focus and control, I was able to "drop a test bomb".  It worked perfectly.  About four seats up, people began looking around at each other and making faces.  After a moment, when everything was back to normal, I allowed the release of another odiferous concoction upon my innocent victims.  This time, the attack waged upon the entire front of the bus.  Those around me were trying to figure out what the problem was.  I should have won the Oscar for my acting ability during this bus ride, because for four hours I was hidden among them and they were unaware of their attacker.

As the bus arrived in Portland, there was a stampede to escape!  I however was able to step off the bus, empty of all gas......

New Orleans...

So, Aunt Bunny has been a part of my life long before she was Aunt Bunny.  When Jimmy and I got our first apartment together, Bunny lived just below us but over one apartment.  I said it was destiny, she said it was all her.  Bunny latched on to us and has never let go.  She now lives in Nashville, but we are always in touch.  Right now she is preparing to go to Amsterdam with her man for valentines day.  Anyway, now that you know our start, let me go on about our trip to New Orleans.....

Bunny, me and Bunnies Niece!
Bunny and her Mom, Step-dad and Brother are a very close family, and so Jimmy and I were pulled into the fold.  This is a group that gives each other shit a lot, but would fight and die for each other.  I am blessed to be a part of their family, and am grateful everyday for them!  So, Mom and Dad, Jimmy and I, and Bunny all decided to go to New Orleans.  This was before the hurricane.  We rented two rooms, cuz you know Bunny wasn't leaving us alone at all!  So, we arrived, started drinking, and sobered up days later on the plane ride home!  Eack!

Jimmy and I sober!
Yeah, not so sober!

So, night number one, Mom, Dad and Jimmy all started pooping out around 4 am.  Bunny and I still wanted to run around in the chaos, so mid way in Bourbon Street they left us to go back to the hotel for a nap.  So, with free reign, Bunny and I took up the torch to continue the party.

We walked along for a little bit, and in the middle of the street someone called out "show us what you got!" from the balcony.  Now, with all the people around us, they could have been yelling at anyone, but of course we just knew they were talking to us.  So, Bunny and I made eye contact, and prepared to flash the balcony.  We were quite drunk and a little fumbly.  With a drink in my hand it wasn't easy, but a moment later, my pants were at my ankles and Bunny was wrestling off her bra with her sweater wrapped tightly around her head.  It was quit a scene!  With the warm breeze brushing by our naked, exposed private parts, beads from heaven were raining down upon us!  It was so loud, all the yelling and beads falling.  The crowd moved to leave us in the middle of an empty little circle like we were going to do a dance solo on American Bandstand!  Suddenly,  I heard "Bunny, Honey, we need the card key to get into the hotel room!"

Yes, Mom had come back to get the card key to get back into the hotel room.   Bunny and I were standing in the middle of the street with all our assets hanging out!  Mom came over (while Bunny was attempting to escape the sweater that had enveloped her head) and reached into Bunny's pocket, took out the card key and said "you two don't stay out too long now!"  She walked away, Bunny popped her head out for the sweater and we both started cracking up with laughter!  Another down pour of beads, and back to the Hotel we went.

To this day, Mom has never said a word about our little moment in the street except that now she always tells Jimmy he is "a VERY lucky man!"  She is a very kind woman!

My new job....

So I bought some new pants and a couple new shirts (just to be as trendy as possible....) for my new job starting on Monday.

I will be going back to the world of mortgage finance, again.  I am working with a temp agency with the hopes that it becomes a full time position.  Sounds strange, "temp agency", but I had to do something.  With other friends in the same boat, whom have been looking for work going on a year now, I sort of started freaking out!  At least this way, I am being productive with my time and getting paid for it!  With almost a whole month of not working, I have been going crazy.  I can't imagine living like this for a year.

Regardless, my shift will be 3 pm to 12 pm, so I wont get to see Jimmy as much.  We are hoping that this is only a short term shift, and that they love having my sexy bootay around so much they offer me a permanent position.

On another note, my facebook has been going nuts!  Of course after my visits back to Wisconsin, my cousins are all tagging me to come back into the flock!  It is really nice to see that they can accept me.  I know things change very slow back there, but I love seeing the progress.  In fact, Mr. Jimmy, my hubby is starting a facebook account of his own today!  We will be having a photo shoot later tonight (don't go getting all excited, it will be G rated - at least the ones you might get to see!!!!!)

So today I have to get a haircut, and then help a friend with some flooring he wants done.  In the morning, I am taking The Super-Sexy SSG to the airport for her trip to see her family!  I know she will have a fabulous time!!!!

Thank you all for your support while I was unemployed and sifting through my family issues!  You are all so wonderful!  I am sending big wet sloppy kisses and Lemon-drops your way!!!!

Songs from Night Flight

Nightflight.jpg

Night Flight ran from 1981 to 1988.  I was not introduced to it until 1986 when my Aunt got cable.  Night Flight was a four hour "up all night" series that played music videos, news snap shots and just a plethora of mini-series topics.  They even sometimes played full length "indie" type movies.  I loved this show, and here are some of the songs it gave me.

Terence Trent D'Arby gave us Wishing Well in 1987.  I loved his first album, and listened to it over and over again.  I look back now, and still see his genius, but can't get over the taste of the synth feeling that washed through the eighties.  He has had many albums, but none with this kind of acceptance.  Still a great singer, and I still love this song....

Bon Jovi had been singing Runaway for some time, but did not actually release it until 1983.  Another great album, and obviously the band has staying power!!!  This song was played almost daily on the bus to school on my little "boom-box" that burned through batteries like butter!!!!

Abracadabra by the Steve Miller band was an unusual mix for them, but 1982 was an unusual year.  This song skyrocket them into multiple facets of the days musical mix.  I still like the original style, but they had to change with the times.....

Troy by Sinead O'conner was released in 1987 and I waited in line to get the album in Dubuque Iowa.  The funny thing was, the people in line were there for another album, I was the only one there for hers.  This song is in my top 10 favorites of all time, as is the album itself.  Chalk it up to the time in my life, the haunting tones and her incredible ability to pitch.  This recording is awful, but it gets the point across.  Regardless of your belief in the Pope, or her emotions regarding the Roman Catholic Church, please give her a try.

Oh, Phil.  Phil Collins released In the Air Tonight in 1981.  The song was riddled with rumors of any kind.  People just couldn't get the song or why he wrote it, but they all loved it.  I don't know a single person who has not heard this song.  Phil is another one with great singer with staying power......

Last week is over....

Last week was a good week for me.  I accomplished a lot!

Looked for work, and had two interviews (no call backs yet!).  Got a bunch of resume's out, and have touched base with quite a few people.

I went snow boarding for the first time - EVER!  I was good!  (then I had to stop after about 3 hours to drink!  I worked muscles I forgot I had!).

I tried to make SSG let me come over to paint.  I gave it my all, but she wont cave in.  The problem is that we can't agree on my outfit to paint in.  You see, I want to wear overalls and she wants me in a jock-strap.  Our people are working on the contract negotiations as I type.  I will keep you informed.

I helped "Auntie K" rearrange her office at doggie day-care.  I like the new set up much better, and now Oscar can sit on the sofa and watch a full 360 degree's!  Oscar won't admit it, but I think he is excited to show Fisher his new handy work.  He was a little disappointed that the "cookiez" were not placed on the floor for storage, and I will bet Fisher is too!

I finished up the blog entry's for Grandpa.  I keep calling him and just sent off another package to him in the mail.  I sent him some dirty joke books and a some dirty magazines.  I also threw in some more jerky and some valentines candy.  He is doing very well, and has had lots of company coming over.  I think I started a trend.  (on a side note - Thank you Mark and Nate for taking such good care of me and Grandpa when I was there!)

Jimmy and I actually went out for dinner!  To a restaurant, and sat at a table, inside!  I love date nights!

All our Christmas items have been re-organized, re-packed and re-placed in the attic!

I got my new glasses and my teeth cleaned.

I made breakfast for Jimmy, and did not break or burn anything!!!!

On created a twitter account, and am working on completing Oscars web page.

Now on to this week!  Good Lord, how can I keep this pace and take on a job?  I should be a house husband!

Happy Monday everyone!  This week is going to be good for us all, I can feel it!

Super-bowl?

Super-Bowl my furry butt!  I have not seen any bowl, let alone a super one.  What kind of sick trick is this?  I thought today I was going to get a ginormous bowl of steak, or chicken, or french fry's.  I am beginning to think there is no bowl at all, but I will just sit here under the table to make sure.

Well at least I get to watch the puppy-bowl....
